These two handsome guys are pretty famous around here. They're our dads! If you chat with us, it's highly likely they'll come in in conversations about how we've gotten so many projects accomplished. They've worked so hard, and SO many hours here at the Hop & Vine Inn. Along the way, they've taught us about the proper way to do things and a lot about hard work!
We're putting the finishing touches on one of our townhomes, and we've decided there is no better theme for its upper and lower levels than Michigan's Upper & Lower Peninsulas! The lower studio level (which includes a full kitchen, bathroom, and living room space with bed), will be filled with gorgeous views of the lower part of our beautiful mitten state, and the upper level (complete with 2 bedrooms & a bath) will soon display photos of the breathtaking U.P.! Want to help us decorate this Michigan themed place to stay? Send your favorite (and free to use) photos our way! Skip on over to our Facebook post to drop them in the comments of this post and be sure to LIKE your favorite submissions while you're visiting! There are some amazing shots!
Stopped at The Kirby in Douglas (5 minutes up the road) for Restaurant Week, and we were blown away! Here's why.
One: They have the most awesome backyard deck, which sits next to a tiny pond & hammock (totally testing that out next time). Two: Bartender Kim kept us smiling the whole time! Three: $5 happy hour menu (for real!) Four: The food was kick butt and integrated some of our favorite local treats, such as The Lavender Farm's lavender gin in a lavender lemonade and Evergreen Creamery's cheese on the beet salad. Five: Live music! The guitarist completed the perfectly chill vibe. We usually only require ONE memorable characteristic to call an outting/meal a success, but the Kirby gave us FIVE. We'll be back! |
