Michigan Family reunion venue for 9-70 guests
Whether it's a big family reunion, class reunion, corporate retreat, marriage retreat, quilting retreat, wedding, or birthday bash, we are your large group venue in Western Michigan. Guests rave about our large common spaces for hanging out, but they also tell us that what sets the Hop & Vine Inn apart is having individual rooms (with their own bathrooms!) to ensure everyone has a place to call their own during their large group gathering. Our variety of room types ensure everyone has the perfect size room to stash their bags, let a kiddo grab a nap, get ready in their own private bathroom, or simply relax in their own personal space.
Gather together in the common areas:
- 90° indoor heated pool with 1ft deep kiddie pool
- Backyard with pickleball, ping pong, sand volleyball, playground, firepit, shaded patios with seating, gas grills, & yard games (corn hole, ladder golf, bocce ball)
- Large dining room with tables, 27 chairs, fireplace, & projector
- Sunporch with 20 chairs (additional chairs also located in the sunporch)
- Main kitchen with double oven with stove, commercial fridge, additional residential side-by-side fridge/freezer, dish sanitizer, large microwave, large sink with disposal, pots/pans, cookware, & silverware/dishes.
- Living room with puzzles, TV, & comfortable seating for hanging out, and a table with 5 chairs.
- Click here for more specifics about the kitchen and common spaces!
- 18 locking units (all in our large building) with 23 total private bedrooms (View a 3D tour of each here, or see a video tour of each room on our YouTube playlist.)
- A bathroom in every unit
- 35 beds + 8 twin-size convertible couches
- Comfortably sleep up to 70 family members if you use the sofa sleepers, although our most common group size of 30-50 also find the property a great fit.
So, how's it work?
Our large groups get to TAKEOVER the inn. We call it a resort takeover, which means the place is exclusively for your guests. We live just a couple doors down from the property with our 3 little boys (two and under), so we're available to greet you upon arrival, maintain the pool, restock pool towels, provide area suggestions, and assist if any needs should arise.
Cook in the large kitchen, cater in meals, take group photos in front of the barn, rearrange the backyard picnic tables, build a campfire, play some serious (or not serious) pickleball or volleyball, relax while the kids climb on the play structure, challenge some friends to a game (find tons of options in the dining room cupboard), put together a puzzle or watch the big game on the projector, or cannonball into the pool. The space is yours, and we want you to have a great time.
It isn't uncommon for some of our large group guests to stay on-site the whole time catching up and enjoying the ammenities, but our area has a TON to do if you want to venture out! Click here to see our big list of the best things to do in Saugatuck, Douglas, & Fennville.
Check-in: 3PM Eastern Standard Time
Check-out: 11AM

Getting here
We love and highly recommend the Grand Rapids Airport (GRR). It's a consistent 50 minute drive from the Hop & Vine Inn. We also have many guests who fly into Chicago (ORD), and that drive can be as little as 2 hours (but is less predictable based due to traffic).

Arriving early?
Regular check-in is 3PM EST and check out is 11AM. We love when families want to make the most of their time together. Depending on the season and availability, we can sometimes add addional hours to group reservations for a fee if any guests wish to arrive on-site early.
When early arrival isn't possible (usually due to another group checking out the morning of the next group's arrival), we still want your crew to start their fun ASAP, so here are a few ideas. All are 3ish miles away from Hop & Vine Inn:
Virtue Cider: A hit with kids and adults. Hard & soft cider, snacks & small menu. Lots of outdoor space with picnic tables, yard games, short trails, and farm animals to see!
Waypost Brewing: Brewery with a lovely little patio that often has chickens roaming around.
Saugatuck Brewing: In case of rain, this brewery has a game room in the back (they'll point you in the direction if you ask) and it is attached to the Saugatuck Antique Pavillion (100+ indoor booths). Unique finds for an entertaining stroll.
Meet up at Westside County Park: Beach lookout and beach access (80ish small stairs down), playground, and pavilions. You can see about reserving the pavilions here.
Parking in Saugatuck (5 miles from us) or Douglas (4 miles) and strolling around to get a lay of the land is always a great first stop as well. They both have playgrounds if you have kiddos who need to move after their travels!
